The Everyday Adventure

The Everyday Adventure

We said goodbye to one of the coldest winters I can remember. The air was cold but the days were full of sunshine. It meant we were able to spend a lot of time outdoors, exploring and visiting new places. The last couple of weeks, however, we've stayed closer to home and enjoyed slowing down our days. I think we all needed one last hibernation before spring.
The Everyday Adventure
Another afternoon we were all desperate to get outside and explore. We found a trail that followed a rocky path along the river, through big boulders and over sand. There were so many treasures to collect and details to take in. The guide said this was a 30 minute walk but it took us 2 hours. These little legs have to stop at every flower, seed, leaf and stick along the way.

Tree climbing is fast becoming one of their favourite activities. Where the big girl goes, the little one is sure to follow, even if her abilities don't quite match her enthusiasm. We found an amazing tree whose trunk was so big you could build a little house inside. It was kid heaven.

We spent our mornings at home and afternoons at the park. The sun was out and we had plenty of time to explore our neighbourhood. This week was spent climbing trees, climbing stairs and playing in the dirt.
The Everyday Adventure
Winter is starting to disappear and there are glimpses of warmth and the sun in spring. For me there is something about a trip to the beach that lifts my spirits. It's the sand, the crashing waves and the salty air and it is pretty hard to beat. We explored the trails through the sand dunes, watched the waves on a deserted beach and ended the afternoon covered in sand from head to toe.
